Journey's Manager Awards Night : Road Trip
Just last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to be a part of a great team led by a great fellow photographer Eric Henderson to cover an event hosted by Journey's. It's their annual awarding event. - We started off shooting probably one of the biggest group portrait I have ever done in my 9 year experience in photography!
I was called in by Eric a week before the event and he needed an extra shooter for this big event. I have to say, I'm so glad I was available for it and was able to join in on the fun!
I didn't get to do much research about the company and I was just about to get introduced to one of the coolest company. The people involved in this huge party were super friendly and super cool! its like... I don't even know how to describe the crowd. just super cool people!
After the group portraits of all the regions, it was then followed to dinner time! the food WAS amazing! They served some pretty kick-ass food to be honest in my opinion. : ) I had filet mignon :D yumm!
The experience was pretty amazing. Watching people celebrate the rewards of their hard work. Journey's rewarded their employees pretty well. I mean just looking at those awards and the bonuses they handed to their employees were pretty impressive. These guys were jumping up and down out of excitement for winning a pretty big award. One of them won a trip to Europe and a pretty generous bonus from the company. It's just amazing to be there to capture these type of raw emotions. I wasn't really suppose to get up on stage but I got excited for these guys too so I jumped in and got in the crowd and decided to just take the shot.
The awarding was then followed by the after party. Everyone was so pumped up from winning all those awards and the company also provided the whole night with an open bar. Top shelf stuff too which is ... again, pretty impressive. Everyone had a blast! the dance floor was packed and everyone was super cool and super fun to be around with. I met several groups, chit chatted, introduced themselves and vice versa so I wasn't really only working the event I get to socialise as well. thats pretty cool and yep I sure did have a great time shooting the event.
